SLEEP WELL, LIVE FULLY CUTE
A HEALTHY SLEEP, FOR A HEALTHY LIFE
THESE ARE RESPECTIVELY THE FIRST AND LAST SLOGAN OF THE WORLD SLEEPING DAY.
AN ANNUAL EVENT ORGANIZED BY THE WORLD ASSOCIATION OF SLEEP MEDICINE.
UNDERSTAND AND SOLVE THE INSOMNIA
The purpose of the day is to celebrate the benefits of a good and healthy sleep and to call society’s attention to issues related to sleep disorders and related treatments, as well as to promote the prevention of such disorders.
In fact, sleep disorders are increasingly widespread so that over 10 million Italians suffer from chronic insomnia and over 45% of the population suffers from acute or transient insomnia. (source: La Stampa)
Countless clinical evidence and research on insomnia, divided into:
Initial insomnia characterized by difficulty falling asleep,
Intermediate characterized by a sleep disturbed by frequent awakenings,
and late insomnia characterized by early awakenings with an inability to fall asleep again.
Research has shown important effects on both physical and mental efficiency and some mental disorders have insomnia among their most frequent symptoms.
For example, depression, phobias and all fears in general, as well as chronic stress.
We spend about 1/3 of our life sleeping or trying to do it. Many people worry about lack of sleep and consume large amounts of drugs in an attempt to sleep.
A 2011 study conducted at the University College London Medical School, of 5431 men and women aged between 35 and 55,
has shown that the ideal duration of sleep at night is 6-8 hours and that sleep less leads to a worsening of physical and mental functions.
A factor frequently implicated in the onset and maintenance of insomnia is stress, which I told you about here.
Even without the intent to judge or criticize, it is not difficult to observe at least some of the causes of such a disorder.
Our world, that is the society in which we live, does not have biological rhythms, on a human scale. If desired, we have the availability of “activation stimuli” 24 hours a day.
The rising of the sun does not mark the beginning of our days or even its end.
There are visual, auditory and other types of solicitations at all times, it depends only on us whether to use them or not.
I do not have eighty years yet I remember that as a child at a certain time on TV there was nothing left to see and only the image that marked the interruption of the broadcasts appeared, just as an example.
Another highlight is the excessive burden of commitments with a consequent reduction in the time spaces to be devoted to relaxation.
In short, there is a certain difficulty in pulling the plug, feeling constantly in a state of physiological activation.
And, when this state of physiological activation is prolonged even when you lie down in bed to sleep, the quality of life suffers heavily.
Specifically, insomnia influences our performance, for example at school or work;
our ability to learn decreases and memory dulls, sleep is in fact a period in which memories can be consolidated and its deprivation involves a reduction of mnemonic and cognitive functions.
Obviously it influences our state of mind making us susceptible to more frequent changes in mood.
The consequences of insomnia could also be serious because it increases the probability of having accidents.
If the topic I have chosen to talk about affects you in some way, know that it is not necessary to always and only resort to drugs to try to sleep.
The path that I propose to you frees you from insomnia.
By reducing the stress load this path aims to recover a general condition of calm and well-being, modifying breathing, relaxing the muscles and loosening the work given by repetitive thoughts.
From 10 to 12 sessions can free you from your sleep disorders, improving their quality, duration and depth.
Fill out the contact form and tell me the characteristics of your sleep.
